Le Hir’s third album is a bi-lingual collection of “Cosmic American French Dream Pop” that ticks all the boxes from jangly Byrdsian country rock to authentic Hardy- and Gall-inspired yé-yé perkiness. ‘Give It’ shuffl es along to a snappy hootenanny beat and ‘Poisson’, a punkier remake of an earlier single combines a ferocious garage edge with an ‘80’s’ powerpop groove that’s sure to crowd the dance floors.

Girl group harmonies and a reflective keyboard solo shimmer throughout ‘Shoo’ and should earmark this for radio stations specialising in ear-friendly ’60s nostalgia. The martial beat and Le Hir’s no-nonsense vocal on ‘Bella’ hint at a renegade country bad girl streak lurking under her demure exterior (think Dolly Parton with an axe to grind) and the giddy ‘Les Chausseures de Maman’ is pure yé-yé gold that had me prancing around the room singing along to its infectious “shala-la-la-la” chorus.
